The Canadian Society of Mountain Medicine Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM) Working Group consists of volunteer physicians and mountain guides, rescue pilots, and technical specialists who are regularly employed in mountain operations. As of 2012, our faculty also includes a small international contingent of specialist mountain physicians who audit the Canadian course on behalf of the International Commission of Alpine Rescue (IKAR) and also to teach lessons during the course. The CSMM DiMM Course was approved on October 19th, 2011 at a joint meeting of the IKAR and International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA) Medical Commissions held at the IKAR/CISA Conference 2011 in Åre, Sweden.
