Nicole Koshure, is a long term local of Whistler, B.C. She has spent the last 17 years working as a member of the professional ski patrol on Blackcomb Mountain and is currently acting as a Team Lead and an assistant Forecaster during the winter months. As a member of the patrol she has completed her CAA Avalanche Operations Level 2, and is a certified CDFL technician with Whistler Blackcomb. During the summer she splits her time between patrolling in the Whistler Mountain bike park, writing grants for a variety of non-profits and pursuing environmental work in her field of education. She holds a Masters in Resource and Environmental Management and is a Registered Professional Biologist.
Nicole joined the DiMM team after helping to write a grant for the society to purchase autopulse devices to be used in the Sea to Sky corridor by the various SAR teams, the Whistler Blackcomb Ski Patrol and the Whistler medical clinic. She was then approached by the society to take on the role of administrative coordinator for the winter and summer courses and has since become more involved with helping to teach some of the skills she has developed through her time on ski patrol.
She hopes to help deliver a great learning experience to the participants of the DiMM courses and looks forward to learning from CSMM’s knowledgeable faculty and students.
