Mike Inniss

Mike joined the DiMM faculty after attaining his diploma in mountain medicine as a member of the first Canadian class.

His career in medicine has been in rural and remote general practice and emergency medicine. He currently lives in Nelson, BC practicing general medicine in the small town of Salmo, BC and
doing hospitalist shifts in the local regional hospital.

He practices prehospital and wilderness medicine as a member of Nelson Search and Rescue, Whitewater Ski Patrol and is a long line technician with Kootenay Heli Rescue. He works at Mike Wiegeles Heli- skiing and Retallack Cat-skiing as physician /guide.

In the winter you will find him ski touring and summer trail running or climbing near his home in the Selkirk mountains of southeastern BC. Truth be told you will more likely find him walking the dog, doing yard work or driving to the coast with the pick up truck to help move (again!) one of his three daughters.

He is happy to be part of the DiMM team and looks forward to spending time in the mountains with like minded mountain medicine folks!
