Diploma Requirements
Join the Canadian Society of Mountain Medicine at the beautiful Kokanee Glacier Hut for some epic backcountry powder skiing while learning about wilderness and sports medicine.
Depending on skiing and weather conditions, the plan is for skiing during the day with some teaching from the guides along the way and the potential for scenarios and rescue skill practice. Then small group hands on seminars and discussion in the evenings. Topics to be covered include hypothermia management, avalanche rescue and resuscitation, altitude medicine, evidence in shoulder dislocations, management of soft tissue knee injuries from ski hill to recovery and medical kit show and tell.
Course is open to physicians, paramedics and Nurses.
CME application pending application for 21 credits
The course’s location will be at the Alpine Club of Canada’s Kokanee Glacier Cabin in the Kokanee glacier Provincial Park, Helicopter flights will be in and out of Nelson B.C.
Fees & Module Information
$3,900 per module.

- Applications and $100 non refundable application fee.
- Course confirmation based on minimum student numbers will be decided by this date.

Fees include:
ALL Accommodation
At the course host hotel and/or remote mountain lodge or hut.
All transportation
To remote sites via helicopter, snow cat, snowmobile, etc. depending on the location.
Almost all Meals
Including breakfast, lunch and the dinners at the remote lodge or hut locations. Dinners while at the hotel are not included.
